Day 1: Welcome to Denpasar (Bali) – Ubud (Bali)

Fly to Denpasar (Bali), INDONESIA

 

Welcome to Bali. Upon arrival in Denpasar Airport, obtain your Indonesia visa (please refer to your Special Program Note), and then clear Immigration and Customs.  After collecting your baggage, exit the airport to meet outside a local Guide of Global Travel & Tours. He/she will be holding a sign with your names on it. Please note that local guides are not allowed inside the airport.

 

From the airport, you will be privately transferred to your lovely boutique hotel. Settled in the foothills of the volcanic mountains of northern Bali, Ubud provides a wonderful contrast to the lively and modern south coast of Bali. Surrounded by paddy fields and dramatic valleys, the old town is often considered to be the ‘cultural hub’ of the island. Particularly famous for its markets, temples, great selection of restaurants and its traditional Balinese architecture, Ubud town is a great place for private exploration. Particularly good for families and young couples wanting to be in the heart of the action.

 

Settle in and enjoy the afternoon and evening at your leisure.

Day 2: Ubud (Bali)

Meals Provided: Breakfast

 

Full day private guide tour: Today, meet your personal guide and driver, and drive to Munduk village. Upon arrival, enjoy a beautiful trekking through coffee, cloves, cacao and other exotic tropical plantations around the village. Your guide will give you the insight to the mountain farming live and the importance of the plantations that once attracted the arrival of Europeans to the archipelago. Visit the lovely waterfall with its refreshing breezes. After short refreshment, it’s the time to leave Munduk village and drive to Jatiluwih. We are joining a pleasant walk to discover the beautiful terrace rice fields of Jatiluwih, a UNESCO world heritage site. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant nearby. Afterward continue visit the UNESCO Heritage listed, Taman Ayun temple, built in 1634 to serve as the Royal family temple of the Mengwi dynasty. The temple is a truly stunning piece of historic architecture, surrounded by a moat with multi–roofed meru shrines and intricately carved wooden gates. Finally, you will visit holiest temple of Batukaru temple, located on the southern slope of Batukaru Mountain. Amidst the pure mountain air and the scent of the wet soil, one could feel the energy of this special place.

 

Day 3: Ubud (Bali)

Half day Whitewater Rafting: Flowing through unspoiled tropical rainforests, deep gorges, and some far distant paddy fields, the Ayung River’s class II and III rapids gives you a chance to experience true white water adventure. Before departure there is a comprehensive safety briefing and guests are fitted with life jackets, safety helmets, and a paddle. Enjoy the thrill of the rapids, the beauty of the scenery and observe rural Balinese people in their day-to-day life along the riverbanks. This shared activity is safe and lots of fun for all ages with two daily departures. Lunch buffet will be served in the terraced river café at the end of the trip. Return back to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of day free at leisure to relax.

 

Day 4: Ubud (Bali)

Full day private guide tour: Start the day with a visit to Kerta Gosa, or Hall of Justice, built in 18th century in Klungkung. It is beautifully laid out within a moat and provides an exquisite example of the Klungkung style of painting and architecture which can be seen in the ceiling murals. Continue through spectacular views of terraced rice fields to Besakih temple, located on the slope of Mount Agung, Bali's highest volcano. It's called Mother Temple of Bali as it houses ancestral shrines for all Hindu Balinese and a complex of nearly 24 temples. The next stop it will be Kintamani, where you can enjoy your lunch with a breathtaking view over the caldera lake, Danau Batur. After lunch, you’ll visit the famous Tirta Empul Holy Water Temple located in Tampaksiring. At this temple you can observe the Balinese bathing in series of holy water fountains. Driving down, arrive in the bottom of a lush green valley where the Gunung Kawi temple, Bali's largest ancient monument is located. It consists of 10 rock-cut shrine memorials standing 7 meters high in sheltered niches cut into the sheer cliff face. End the tour with a stop at Goa Gajah before returning to your hotel.

 

Day 5: Ubud to Seminyak

Road journey from Ubud to Seminyak: Today, you’ll be driven through small villages and incredible landscapes, stopping for pictures and with your guide who will explain the islands’ culture, flora and fauna. You’ll arrive at Beratan Lake, a volcanic lake that is surrounded by spectacular views. You can visit the famous Ulun Danu Temple which sits on a small island on the far shores of the lake. Next you’ll explore the colorful market of Candikuning before enjoying lunch at Bamboo Forest Restaurant, a fabulous restaurant located the middle of a tranquil rainforest on the slopes of Batukaru Mountain.

 

After lunch, you’ll visit Bali’s most famous sight, the sea temple of Tanah Lot. Located on a barren volcanic rock in the ocean, the temple is sometimes pounded by huge waves: a magical setting. Then transfer to your luxury resort. Seminyak is quiet and pleasant, attracting return visitors seeking more peace and seclusion second time around. Many expats with businesses in Bali choose to live here, so the shops and restaurants tend to cater for these more discerning tastes. A combination of beautiful beaches, sunsets and rice fields make Seminyak area a perfect place for relaxation. Settle in and enjoy the afternoon and evening at your leisure.

Day 5: Seminyak

Take a dive on the incredible US Liberty Wreck and witness the fantastic array of corals and marine life that have made the 120 meter structure their home. Alternatively enjoy a calm inspection of one of the area’s vibrant coral reefs and see just how varied the marine life on Bali can be. Macro enthusiasts will love Seraya Secrets and Noisy Reef, where an unusual array of marine life can be found at any time of day. Sea conditions are generally excellent in the Tulamben region sites, little affected by the current. The water temperature is often the best around Bali, at a balmy 26-29ºC and the sun is almost always shining. Numerous Boat Dives, Shore Dives, an array of Macro Life very hard to compare to anywhere in the region along with fantastic night dives, Tulamben has something for divers of all levels and interests.

 

Day 6: Seminyak

Meals Provided: Breakfast

 

Experience your dream of beach horse riding on a beautiful southern west Bali Island. The horse riding experience is for all levels from beginners to advance, and individuals to groups. Ride along for 2 hours, by passing the Canggu villages, rice fields, beautiful beaches, creek crossings, river crossing, stopping at a bat cave for exceptional cliff top views and passing the beautiful Beach Temples. 

 

Enjoy time at leisure to explore at your own pace, or relax at your hotel.

 

Day 8: Seminyak (BALI) to Denpasar (BALI)

Meals Provided: Breakfast

 

Today enjoy time at leisure until you are transferred to the Denpasar airport in time for your flight to your next destination. We wish you a safe and pleasant journey.
