Today, meet your personal guide and driver and drive through the typical Khmer countryside to the holy Kulen Mountain range which provided some of the stones used to build the Angkor temples. With beautiful sceneries to admire on the way up, our vehicle will bring us on a steep dirt road to the top of the mountain. It is about 70 km from Siem Reap city. Holy Kulen Mountain or Mahendrapura was one of the capital cities of King Jayavarman II, the founder of Angkor Empire in 802, the ruler with universal power. Left behind 54 temples on mountain top and a thousand Shiva Lingas along riverbed and waterfall. Kulen was taken its name after the local pronounced the Lychee fruit of Natural Mountain which grew in the whole areas.

There we first will see the site of the thousand Shiva Lingas or Lingum on the riverbed on the summit of Holy Mountain. Local people have been still believed that when the water run on Shiva Lingas, that water become holy and can clean their sin or bad luck.

Walk further will bring us to the site of a huge natural rock with on top a huge reclining Buddha statue and pagoda on the summit of this mountain. The oldest statue in Cambodia and was built in 16th-century by powerful King Ang Chan Racha I to make Angkor Empire period in glory again after abandoned in 1431. Next, visit Srah Damrei or the Elephant Pond is a collection of giant stone animals guarding this sacred mountain.

A picnic lunch will be taken at a scenic spot and you will have time to explore the area before you return to Siem Reap.

After exploring through the afternoon, begin the drive back to Siem Reap, en-route make a short stop at the Land Mine Museum, a rather humble look at the land mine problem, past and present, in Cambodia. Transfer back to hotel.
